In the summer of 2021 I joined Oneworld Magazine's team as the photo-editor until I ended my position at the beginning of 2024. Oneworld is a Dutch magazine that focuses on human rights, climate change and untold stories. As a photo-editor I was responsible for all images in the quarterly print magazine.
While collaborating with the other departments within the magazine it was my job to translate journalistic articles, interviews and essays into visual concepts. Booking the right photographers, illustrators and/or other creatives or find existing works with the same purpose. Supporting context and narrative by images. Additionally I oversaw the creative budget, managed the copyrights regarding photography and produced both national and international photoshoots. Planning, arranging locations, studio's and when needed stylists and make-up artists.
I enjoyed working with Oneworld's on 9,5 issues. Here is an impression of some of the stories I worked on.
