Frans Hals Museum: Artist in resident Studio F

The Frans Hals Museum asked me in oktober to be their artist in residence for studio F and create a photography workshop for visitors. Studio F is the last exhibition room in the museum. It is an interactive room that serves as a educational workshop room  for visitors while at the same time being part of the exhibition. Because of covid I had to create a program without any equipment, tools or other materials. I wrote a program that would push visitors to make a self portrait with their smartphones, without showing their face. Visitors could then send in their works and all of them would be displayed on a screen in Studio F. When the government closed all musea for lockdown the week before our opening  we decided to turn the workshop into a photo competition. 3 Winners would be exhibited in print in the museum and all the other contestants would still be displayed on a screen. The instruction video we created for Studio F was launched online instead of between museum walls and we created 2 more video’s to inspire and motivate people of all ages to join. And of course, the grand finale, when we revealed the winners that the judges Anne DeMeester, Kirsten van de kinderraad en myself choose.

Rijksstudio Awards 2020

The Rijksmuseum asked me to host the annual Rijksstudio award show 2020. The international design competition by the Rijksmuseum. It was a great honor to host the award show (from an empty museum) and virtually meet all the contestants.
